Hepatitis A is an infection in the liver caused through exposure to faecal matter by oral means. Vaccination against Hepatitis A is offered to people who are eligible.
Rare to find in the UK due to mass immunisation, but certain countries and continents have been known to still carry the disease, such as Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe
Typhoid fever is an infection caused by the bacterium Salmonella Typhi (derived from salmonella food poisoning) that goes on to affect many vital organs.
Rabies is a major disease affecting the brain and nerves that leads to severe motor function failure and neurological damage. Rabies is only contracted through the bite or scratch of an infected animal.
Hepatitis B is an infection in the liver caused through exposure to infected bloody and other bodily fluids. Hep B is found globally but the high risk areas include some parts of Africa, Asia, the Middle East & Europe.
Japanese Encephalitis is a rare but severe brain infection that comes about from exposure to mosquito bites. This disease is commonly found in Asia with the risk being greater in rural areas.
Rare to find in the UK due to mass Ticks are parasites that live by sucking blood from wild animals and humans. Tick-borne encephalitis is a type of viral encephalitis caused by a virus spread through tick bites.
When is the best time to visit?
The different regions of China vary in temperature and climate – the north of the country is the temperate area, south is subtropical, and the central area has a warm temperature.
There is plenty to see and do in the urban areas and rural villages as well. From fantastic music to culinary delights, large cities and amazing walks, this country has it all!
